“Talent is God given. Be Humble. Fame is man-given. Be grateful. Conceit is self-given. Be Careful”

John Wooden

Volleyball has been in my life for many years, I started playing on Hermosa Beach in 1993. That same year I joined the Navy and spent the next 14 years serving my country. Little did I know that 20 years later I would be Coaching Volleyball. Like most Coaches I started Coaching because my Daughter’s team needed a Coach and I was available to give some of my time to help. From that experience I re-discovered my love of Volleyball. From my experiences in the Military I have learned that you can never stop improving on your craft. I have dedicated a lot of time and effort to becoming a better well rounded educated coach. I am one of only three USAV CAP II coaches in the Delta Region and I am just getting started! I have Coached  all levels, Elementary, Middle and High school age girls. My main expectation from all of my teams is 100% Effort 100% of the time. I emphasize to the girls how sports can be a way to take a few hours and shelve the mundane issues in their daily lives and just play. I never want them to bring the outside issues onto the court.  I look forward to a long career as a coach and mentor to young players. My goals at DLV are simple, make players better than they think they can be and teach them the only way to be successful is through Relentless hard work.

The top three priorities in my life are:

1. Family
